As fall takes hold in the Northeast USA, I am inspired to start a new edition of this ongoing thread. Please post images that you love primarily because of their color. I will get things started with my first fall foliage shot. But, there is no seasonal requirement. Australian spring, Antarctic blue icebergs, tropical flowers, spilled cinnamon, whatever. This thread is for members in any part of the world. Because the sole criterion is the member's own love for the image, this is more a place for celebration than criticism. Newcomers are encouraged to participate. Posting an image in an ongoing thread may be easier than starting your own. Commentary and any extra camera/lens info is fine but optional. This thread is open to all cameras.

Spring is starting to make some tentative advances in New Jersey:

If you have not seen this thread before, simply post an image you like because of its color (more than one is fine).

Taken back in the fall of 2013, the following photo was taken with my D800 and 80-400mm Nikkor (original version) at 400mm and then cropped in Photoshop to look like a panoramic. The foreground is a Japanese maple while the background colors are a Norway maple. I always liked the combination of colors that resulted.

A terrific color combo. It is nice that you recall the source of the background color as well as the name of the subject.

I caught the rhododendron display at the perfect time at the Van Vleck House as numerous varieties were at their peak. I was interested in seeing how the D7100 would handle the reds and, I would say, it did so very well.

Reds are not only found in flowers. I got really nasty banding in this pic but could not get the color interplay with more conservative processing.

This one had the same black, red, white combination but without any banding.

And, back to the standard floral color contrast shot:

This one was shot at Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morristown, NJ. I will miss my NJ locales as a move to Tulsa, Oklahoma is imminent. But, I have already been to the Tulsa Garden Center so all is not lost.

Have a great Memorial Day!

Colors.

... they can be plentiful:

Talk to me

These are a few photos which I took on a recent trip, that really speak to me. The color palette, composition.... I'm quite fond of them.

Well, I suppose, I have some control over that. So, while this thread started with fall in the Northeast USA, I will try to jump start it with an image from late summer in the South, an image of an anthurium from a greenhouse next to the Tulsa Garden Center. OK, the flower is not native to Oklahoma. But, it is colorful:

Shot with my Sigma 70 2.8 Macro hand held as I didn't realize the greenhouse closed at 2:30 and I had no time to set up.
