Giles is my first name and Toronto is where I live. Got the idea from Jan in CA when I was first on this forum, before I got my FZ10. On Smugmug, "alcorn" is the street I live on. Nothing very original, but at least I will know how to find my way home!

I went to a outdoors show where the had a variety of Birds-of-Prey. The littlest one of them was an American Kestrel. The trainer said he was the only bird brave enough to be placed next to the Bald Eagle, so from then on he was my bird. As for the 1029, it's my birthday October 29th.

I was planning to chronicle the work we do for restoration - most of it is just cosmetic as the boiler and flues are in very good shape. I will post pics on smugmug as stuff happens. It hasn't arrived in Kansas yet, but we hope to get it here in the next few weeks. I'll do my best to get some good shots of it arriving and unloading.

So do you now live further west, and north of the Solway Firth, or south? Much time in my childhood spent with my grandmother who lived in Aspatria (pronounced spiatrie by the locals!, eh Jonwilly?) on the road from Carlisle to Whitehaven, and with relatives in Silloth and Skinburness ... that's if you are south of the firth ;)

'c2100uz'pshoot'e100rs' was just too obvious. As it is I forgot the 'I' that should've been there for a more percise & true representation of me as the proper 'UZI'pshoot'ERS' so there'd be absolutely no doubt. De-emphasizing the p worked well too since by that time I'd begun to split more time in 'A' mode too... ;-} 'UZ'pShoot'ERS' which I thought novel or semi-amusing & sufficient at the time opens up the possibility of being associated with unstabilized long zoom pretender cams I'd never even use let alone want to be mistakenly associated with... IMHO, that'd be a fate worse than death... ;-}

Don't know when Phil disabled the ability to change your handle as easily as your sig but I started out as UZ'P'Shooter before I became a dual owner & to emphasize my inexpierienced predominents towards 'P' mode shooting... At the time 'U'ltra 'Z'ooms were few & the c700 was about all there was besides the Pro90is & a previous stabilized Sony monstrosity....

I'm screwed if/when I get the FZ20. I'll have to wipe the slate clean with a whole new account to become 'FLUZI'UZI'pShoot'ERS'.... Unless of course I sell off the Uzi but that aint happenin nor will the Ezi(e100rs) ever be... ;-}

I never thought to use Ross R or R Russo etc. I thought there might be the chance of having to use a symbol or number to distiguish myself form all those other Ross Russos that I've had to resort to with hotmail & yahoo profiles.... LOL...
It's so humbling to find out your not the only one after all these years....
