Where are you from?

Hang on!
Here we are united by a common interest.
Interesting posting. Makes one think... And appreciate everyday life.

Leavenworth, Kansas in a small area with about 2,000 others. Actually, I am using the computer in the library here. Not originally from here but will be staying until 2018 as things stand right now.

One of the simplest questions of all, yet one of the most difficult for me to answer.

Born in Singapore, of British parents, then spent the first 18 years of my life moving from RAF camp to RAF camp every 3 years. Went to university in London. Then moved regualrly to numerous places in the UK and Italy. Finally settled near Brighton, Sussex, England.

Where am I from? :)

I'm from Dublin, Ireland, but now live in Milton Keynes in the UK.

Milton Keynes is about 50 miles north of London, and is almost mid way between Oxford and Cambridge. It is a very modern new town (40 years old) which, for reasons and benefits that escape me, people keep trying to have declared a city.

One of Milton Keynes claims to fame is its "concrete cows" which people incorrectly assume were strategically located in fields to try and convince passers by that they were not in a concrete jungle. Actually, they are just one of over 200 pieces of public art that is to be found in the parks and streets of the area. They were a gift to Milton Keynes from their creator, Canadian artist in residence Liz Leyh, in 1978. Though concrete cows do not suffer from BSE or foot and mouth, they have, at various times ended up turning pink, been found wearing pyjamas, and had family members kidnapped!

Only some winter days are such snowy, in summer weather is Ok :) Btw, I'm checking this forum because my next camera will be E-PL2 (maybe).

I am from Cartersville, Georgia USA, 40 miles north of Atlanta.

Time, that aged nurse,
rocked me to patience.

You are absolutely correct. Not far from Valley Forge Park, Phoenixville, and Chester Springs.

This thread reminds me of something I wanted to add . . .

It always amazes me how well people form all over the world can express themselves in English. I'm from the US and I think (well, know) that many of us take for granted that we'll be able to communicate with others around the world without having to learn a new language. (Like in this forum!). So from us yanks: thank you!
He-he, maybe you should be glad this is all in written English; if you heard some of us speak (including myself) you would probably be less impressed!

But since 20 Years living in different countries:

Starting in Kenya, then Malawi, back to Kenya, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Solomon Islands, New Zealand ,Australia, and now Liberia since 2 years.
In between visits to about 20 other countries.
Now with the Epl-1 to take along.

You'll have to ask my parents... they wouldn't tell me!

On a big land mass at the foot of a mountain range, on a street in a city in a house, in the computer room. If you were asking where I was born, the next closest land mass across the Atlantic Ocean.
On such a global forum, I think it would be interesting to share where we live, and get some perspective.I know many users profiles lists their location, but many do not, and where's the fun in just sifting through profiles?

I am from Buffalo, New York, United States.

It is nestled between lake erie (across from Cleveland) and lake ontario (across from Toronto), Niagara falls is about 10 minutes away, and directly across the niargara river I can see ontario, canda. The population of the metro area is around 1 million.

What about you?

but happened to live in Denmark.

The old Georgia Pacific plant in downtown, soon to be a new waterfront section of the city.

I like this picture; industry, trash and decay. A bit too much sharpening?

Cambridge, England; just across the river from the Fort St. George -- a pub, not a castle!

Having lived in Chicago and Philadephia i can say that Divine Providence has apparently ordained that i can only be happy living in Virginia.
