The Tamron SP 24-70mm F2.8 Di VC USD G2 is the company's second generation 'standard' zoom lens for full-frame Canon and Nikon DSLRs. Out of its 17 elements, 2 are extra refractive, three are low dispersion, three are gloss-modeled aspherical and one is 'hybrid' aspherical. An eBAND coating reduces flare and ghosting while the front element's fluorine coating keeps fingerprints away. The lens has nine circular aperture blades and is sealed against dust and moisture. It sports an updated IS system that reduces shake by up to 5 stops and a new Micro-Processing Unit for 'faster and more precise autofocus.' Nikon users will appreciate its electromagnetic diaphragm system.
