Remove/hide alerts automatically as you view them

Is there a setting somewhere where the site can remove notifications or hide them after I view them? It used to do this with the old forum, but in the new system it seems to not do this and it gets a bit cumbersome if you have a lot of notifications to go through. Maybe it's a setting somewhere in my profile?

Hi sirthawkeye64! Yes, go to your profile settings and you can adjust notifications there.

Via… Your account → Alerts ...you can only mark alerts as Read or Unread. At this moment in time, forum members cannot dismiss or delete them.

The number of days to retain viewed and unviewed alerts is configured by the forum administrators.
I have no idea what these settings are.



Selecting the (whole list or individually) Mark read checkbox/s may “inch” them towards the trash can, if for example: auto deletion after 30 days?

The long list of alerts is enabled by default.
You switch off most or all of them via Your account…

OK thanks, hopefully we can get to a point where they disappear from the "alert" list as you view them (like it used to be).
