Hi everyone
I have a very specific problem with an OKI MC853. The printer prints without any problems, and I can also scan without any issues (glass or ADF).
However, when I try to copy a sheet directly on the printer using the ADF, I get ghosting across the entire sheet. This happens regardless of whether I'm copying in color or black and white. As I said, only via ADF. I have no problem at all to copy using the glass. And only when copying. Scanning via ADF does not have this problem.
Now I think that the internal image processing is defective, so it's a board error. Can I simply replace the board from an MC853? I have read that you have to reprogram the EEPROM, is that correct? Where exactly is this chip on the board? Can I simply re-solder it, or can it be read out with a CH341A EEPROM programmer and written to the new one? Does anyone have experience with this?
Or what other alternatives do I have to solve this problem besides buying a new printer?Of course, I have already updated the firmware and completely reset the printer.
Thanks
