You know, it doesn't mean if you repeat it often enough, it becomes true.

What he's talking about isn't contrast across a picture technically, it's micro-contrast aka MTF aka sharpness. Indeed not only in theory but in practice it goes up with aperture aka glass. You can use dawes limit as a practical example of this.

I believe that Olympus will overcome much of this with superior glass especially on the zooms. I believe this whole thread was created because I said I don't believe one particular lens (the 300f/2.8) will achieve this goal (and hasn't IF the MTFs aren't over or understated by one company).

I absolutely do not shoot weddings commercially. How dare you accuse me of that! It's too boring. I do interiors, architecture, travel, and largely corporate annual reports and portraits. Products are a happenstance.
