More GXR samples...

Hi everybody,

As promised I put a sample of S10 module, the image was taken @ 100iso with the previous firmware but pushed in the processing at +1,5 stop.

For higher iso test and to determine the overall image quality with this module I need to process the new dng files which is not possible at the moment... But I can image imagine a very nice image quality up to 400/800iso for a small sensor module.

You can check here on the french forum : http://www.chassimages.com/forum/index.php/topic,67361.690.html

Cheers

I think it does a great job....this is what I notice vs the GRDlll and especially the smaller sensor CX, the foliage, leaves on the trees suffer less from fuzziness (maybe NR is less, maybe it is just the new engine of the sensor)...in any case very nice for a small sensor lens....

You are killing me with those 50mm shots....
Thanks...

I really wish I could process raw files. Now I started to get use with the camera and I feel comfortable to shoot quick with manual focus, but I need to improve to take the decisive moment, but it depends on me and not the camera... Those shots are there to show image quality even with jpegs, a really good auto white balance (way better than my D3) and the good matrix metering...

I have also more creative shots but they are not the purpose.

Thanks for posting the link, Ben. Much appreciated.

You welcome Calvin, Cam and I had a huge opportunity thanks to Ricoh France responsible who took enormous risks...As we truly enjoy this preprod camera, not meaning it is totally bug free or do not need improvements, but we thought it was abolutely normal to share with the entire community, not only the french one, we all live the same world and have the same passion for photography.

Hi everyone, I have posted new samples shots with the S10 module as I can process dng, Ricoh gave me another camera so I could process with LR 3 béta.

I must say I am really impressed with this small sensor module, 400iso is really good you can print 60x40cm with quality, at 800 hundred it will depend but you can at least make 30x45 print even in color or black and white. Of course I printed those images before making this statement. The 800 iso pictures was pushed to +0,25 EV in raw process.

I decided to put only 50% crop because it corresponds in terme IQ print to a more or less 40x60cm more or less.

Have a look here (down page) : http://www.chassimages.com/forum/index.php/topic,67361.930.html

To be honest I really don't know... As far as I know it is the same sensor but the imaging processor is different.
Thanks...this is the predicament as I am trying to decide on which.....size may be the deciding factor but I won't know till I handle one....The GRDlll is a great camera, I know of the banding reports at over 400 and supposedly the S10 does not suffer this. Still the size of the GRD does give it one huge advantage so soon I will know.
