I was watching someone edit on Twitch the other day and he showed some of his previous work. It was the first time I had ever had the sensation but watching his video evoked a strong smell of what that place would have smelt like. It was a race track so the smell of oil and burnt rubber.
Anyway, he was showing his current project and was explaining how he was guiding the viewers eye from shot to shot.
It made me respect how much there is actually from a creative side to editing and made me wonder, how do you learn to edit?
I am not interested in the technicals of how to learn Premier Pro or Davinci; to me those are just learning the tools. What I am wondering is how to learn the psychology like the streamer was using to guide the viewers eye.
Are there any good resources (free or low cost) that cover this area of video editing?
