Just another bleed'in Aussie mate!
I know my latest questions have turned more to the philosophical
than the technical but that's how I understand what I'm dealing
with. The last thread about forum user backgrounds built pictures
in my mind that a digital camera will never be able to do (I hope).
My apologies to those who think these types of questions are
intrusive, boring or sappy.

That said, I have part two:

Where is everyone from? I know the majority are American here but
what parts? I'm Canadian born and raised from parents who came from
Holland. I have lived in the Ottawa (the capital for those who
think it's Toronto - why wouldn't you think that!) area for my
whole life except for some shorter stints in Vancouver and Europe.
I have been all over the US a few times but there are many places
that I still have yet to see. If you're willing, let us know what
country and city you're from.

Regards,
Andrew

Well I take back what I said about most people on here being from the US! There certainly are alot of Americans but I'm really surprised by how many Europeans and Auzzies there are. I'm a little surprised by how few Canadians but I guess that's why everyone here still looks at me like I'm a freak when I pull out my camera (at least I hope it's the camera!).

Thanks for the interesting reading again.

Regards,
Andrew

Hey Andrew.

I think we have a lot in common.

I was born and raised in Canada.
My father is from Holland(came over when he was 16)
I've been all over the States.

Currently I'm living in Newtown CT, USA. I've been living in the states for 3 years now(California previously), but lived most of my life around Dundas Ontario(about 1hr outside of Toronto, near Hamilton). I lived in Ottawa for 3 months for a co-op term in college. Loved it. Very clean city.

All the best,
Victor VanHerk

I was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, and grew up just outside of Edmonton, Alberta. Lived in Ottawa for a few years ( just north of the Glebe ) before heading to north and south Carolina. Currenly looking to head out to the Rockies and settle down somewheres.

Thanks for doing that Curt. I was trying to figure out when I could do that myself!

I knew some Phaneuf's in Rock Forest, their son's came to high school with me about 13 years ago, but it's a name that's a bit common around here so maybe there is no relation.

Do you like the region around here?...plenty of photogenics scenery :-)

Joel
My mother and sister live in Rock Forest....what a small world it
is after all. I guess you wife as family there. Where exactly in
Rock Forest do you go?

Sherbrooke, Québec (about an hour east of Montréal)

Sorry guys - had to chime in.

I do a ton if internet gaming and have come to find the nicest folks (online) are Aussies followed by you Canadians. I have also been to Sherbrooke (20 years ago) and found the people there to really have a huge dislike towards Americans (or anyone english speaking).

Just my thoughts, but I am in no hurry whatsoever to get back to Quebec anytime soon! The rest of Canada, my wife and I are seriously thinking of moving to Canada from the States.

Alan:

I used to live (grew up) in South Jersey, the only pretty places in that state are the far northwest parts.

Your photos are amazing, and beautiful, you need to open a travel agency, because my memories of New Jersey (like I said, with the exception of the watergap area) were of dirt and congestion.

Keep convincing me otherwise - I clearly need it!!
