Epson P700 Multiple Issues. Time to bail?

I've spent hours over the past few days trying to get the front feeder of my Epson P700 to work using Epson's Exhibition Fiber paper. The paper will load but when I try to print I get an error message on the printer saying the paper settings don't match when they do. Now I cannot reset the printer options in Photoshop. I've removed and reinstalled the printer and reset the printing system on my Mac. This seems to be an Epson issue. I've not removed and reinstalled all of the Epson software but I guess that's next. Given all of the issues with these printers did I make a huge mistake in getting this? When it works, it works well but when it doesn't. . . Is it time to switch to Canon?

More likely a user issue than an Epson issue, but near to impossible to solve via forum messages.

Switching to Canon will likely solve any user issues, anyway, so maybe that is a practical solution.

btw, Exhibition Fiber feeds great from the top feed on my P900. Front feed works but is a nuisance to use.

btw, I recall you can disable the requirement that settings match, so perhaps try that. If that works, then figure out what about the settings is apparently not matching.

Maybe if you post detailed screenshots of all your PS and driver and systems settings and dialogs someone may spot something that is off.

Epson Exhibition Fiber is 13 mil thick (0.325 mm). It is probably not thick enough for the front feed. Per Epson documention of p900 (the printer I have ) front feed is recommended for papers from 20 mil (0.5 mm). Check p700 documentation.

After much finger pointing turns out it's an issue with Photoshop. Apple was able to direct me to a workaround which is to use Mac's "preview" viewer to select the Epson printer, make the setup changes, and save that as a preset. Not convenient but more convenient than not being able to control the printer.
