*** CTF Challenge 81 – Perspective Disproportion ***

Dorys, thats a GREAT shot. just a little more DoF and vertical crop...and you are ready to rock-n-roll. thats exactly i had in mind when i suggested something to Paul in my earlier post.

looking forward to seeing the better version of this in the challenge gallery.

aam, looking at your entries in previous challenges, i am certain that you would post something dazzling this weekend.
That is the fun of the challenge. Coming up with something better
than what is already posted.
and Lee...only one shot is not enough.

you SLR people dont have to spend hours to get darn focus/dof issues right, like we p&s guys (relatively speaking, pls dont take it offensively)...so come on, share some more of your talent.

"dazzling"! are you making fun of me Abstract?....ha ha, I know you meant well Abstract, but let's not get overboard :) Your photos are the dazzling ones, believe me.

I will submit something soon just for you Abstract. Hope you like it (haven't taken it yet...but soon I will).

I'm with Alexeig on this one.

No disrespect to the artists (or to abs), but how is my toy jeep with a dog, showing an obvious disproportion of one item to another, any different than a mug on a mug or strawberries in a line up?

On the one hand my jeep/dog shot was considered off topic, yet my first jeep shot, done with a 15mm fisheye and showing complete distortion, is OK. I figured Abs would throw that one out immediately since he specifically stated no distortion.

This is too much work for my brain... :-)

Three things I wouldn't vote for. Pets, kids, and flowers. Unless they are special.

Another controversy, Lonnit earned $5 from a photo, now she is acting like the best photographer in the world. Earth calling Lonnit...answer please.

i would be very precise in answering here...because i already explained the reason in detail for your jeep-dog shot being off-topic in my comment under the shot. also i have commented on every shot, so i am not going to discuss any one else's shots in this post either.
but how is my toy jeep with a dog, showing an obvious disproportion
as it was not a real jeep, you as a photographer did not produce any disproportion in the shot. toy-jeep was smaller than the dog, which you showed in your pic.
first jeep shot, done with a 15mm fisheye and showing complete
distortion, is OK.
the first thing i checked was the jeep's bumper (under license plate)...which is horizontal (just a little curvy)
red bar is horizontal...
even two vertical bars around the registration plate are vertical.

basically, i felt the visual distortion is not uncomfortable and within acceptable limits.

you know, this is really funny...it is a no-win situation for me. if i had said its off-topic you would have argued with afore mentioned points (visual distortion is negligible) with me to prove it being on-topic.
