*** CTF Challenge 81 – Perspective Disproportion ***

If I could work out what buttons did what on me new camera, I'm sure I would have some prize winners posted already ...................wot was the topic?
Regards Rod

Just a couple of shots out the front of our house after work today, after the rubbish I took yesterday I feel a lot more relaxed now:-)

Regards Rod

Paul,

thank you very much for this note. i am glad (not to mention relieved) to know how others might be feeling about the topic.

i am sure, this topic might be forcing a lot of people to go out of their comfort zone and even photography-style...low number of "exhibition" entries shows that clearly.

all i had in my mind was a topic that addresses a different "style" of photography...in other words a different way, odd view point (literally), perspective to look at things that in real life we dont see.

i love this kind of perspective shots with dramatic disproportional feeling and hoping to learn new ideas/tricks/concepts from all participants. after looking submitted shots with various interpretation of the theme already, i am very excited about what next week might have in store.

Abstract
Abs,
In reply to the above in Jstrongs egg shot you say ' Ihope you and
all other posters take it positively" I have to say i'm really
enjoying this one as it's making me sit down and think of ideas
before i even pick up the camera and then because of the difficulty
of getting the image as i want i'm having to learn more about the
camera, especially regarding focus. I have 4 or 5 ideas going
around my head that hopefully will evolve into 2 more entries over
the next week or so but whether they do or not it's really using my
brain which is what i prefer most of all in a challenge rather than
shoot an image just off hand and then try to fit it into the theme.

Great fun

Regards
Paul

No complaints about the topic here. Anything that makes my brain hurt is good. Love it.

A rather clever one-liner will be inserted here. Please be patient....

Sure didn't mean my comment to be of a negative nature at all - please read my comment under my submission. Thanks!

Rod - both shots are great, but the first is really beautiful with the rays coming down!

jstrong

jstrong, no need to apologize.

i did not misunderstand your comment. infact your attempt (eggonomous), not to mention with an excellent result, to get a shot in eligible in two days clearly shows you like the topic and enjoying it.
i am sorry, my "taking positively" words give you wrong impression.

Well done m8!

Rod, congratulations on the new purchase :)

Just in case someone is still wondering, yes I'm still alive ;) but a little overworked, phew. Also, congratulations on the winners and placegetters of the previous challenge.

For old people with new cameras ....................I might have to use the G2:-)

Good onya Abs, the topic is a real challenge as the DOF can make or break an entry. It's great to look at the entries so far, as we can see the effort posters have gone to. Definitely takes some thinking this one. Excellent topic mate.
Regards Rod

you have an amazing sense of making a nice-simple shot with very common-everyday items. coins, cd reflection, milk, cookie-can, cheese...very impressive talent.
if this topic can still stimulate your brain, i am happy.

G'day Jstrong, (what's your first name? Much easier)

I took your comments exactly as you meant them which was in a very positive way. Poor old Abs seemed a tad concerned that the difficulties were a negative and i wanted to reassure him that they definitely aren't.

Regards
Paul

I like that first shot but the bum scratcher in the 2nd looks somewhat dangerous. Pretty soon you'll be taking pictures to do justice to your $300 camera, at the moment i'd say you're at the $73.65 mark (on special from K-Mart)

Kindest as ever
Paul

Hey Paul! My first name is Jane, but my friends call me Jano. It is a difficult challenge, but that is what is great about it!!! What is a "challenge" unless it is challenging! I purchased my camera with one objective in mind - and that was to create and put photos on my walls that were mine - not something I would purchase from a store. I had no experience other than a pure appreciation for the art of photography. I have purchased many books on photography and PS, so it's definitely a learning xp. My purpose is to learn, experience, and create an essence of what I see of the world. It's a personal passion that I hope I can share with my family. Since my purchase, I have learned much and know I have much more to learn - so I'll keep plugging away with new perspectives and hopefully more knowledge. And, it's just fun! jano
