>>>> challenge 64 information <<<<

with some gumption... i was in a busy pizzeria this afternoon and just couldnt find the right opening to ask if i could take a few pics and who to ask - the guy behind the counter.. other patrons...

i'll probably work up to it at some point - i am sure it will make me a better man :)

-gk
i usually do....except when i don't.

i think it's nice to ask. most folks will say "sure" if asked, i find.

good luck!

Andy: I've uploaded pictures I
shot in "other people's" neigh-
bourhoods to the Exhibition
Gallery. If you consider this
stretching the rules, please
do delete my photos (or let
me know and I'll delete them
myself); no problem!

Thanks.

nah - we're pretty loose around here. the intent is to shoot folks, in situ so i don't think you'll be dq'd for this :)

thanks for entering!

and thanks for entering challenge 64!

I found this forum a couple of weeks ago while in the midst of trying to decide which new digital camera to buy (had a Mavica FD-90, and ended up upgrading to a 717). I have found a lot of great advice and have learned a lot in a very short time, and was inspired to post a photo. I'm not sure how good it is, but since it's of my daughter (very close neighbor!), I personally like it : )

he's been out of it but is among the land of the living as of tonight. he should be by at some point....

How about reducing the size of photos a little more.
I try to keep mine around the 150 - 200k mark.
I know there are some that are 400k - 800k in the exihibition gallery.
Maybe those could get knocked down some for the dial-up folks. Thanks
hey guys,

in pbase, when you upload your photo and edit it, there's a space
there for "location"

would you all please put your "neighborhood" in this spot? it'll
help us to get to know you and your city/town/neighborhood better.

thanks guys!

...I've always felt a bit shy about taking photos of people, be they friends or strangers. When I first saw the challenge topic, I thought that I would need to bypass this one. Then I thought "get over it"...I've always wanted to do more people photography and I have a bit of time to throw at the effort just now.

Either candid or with permission, I'm finding people are surprisingly (to me) open and willing to have their photos taken. The asking or being candid turns out to be the easy part...the photos are tough, but I'm having a ball!

Thanks Andy, great topic, and you have definitely challenged me!

Michael

that's the essence of the challenges right there, folks.

you made my day michael! more so than any comment on any photograph i've ever posted.
