This is becoming a frustrating experience. This software refuses to be downloaded, not even halfway there after twenty hours on a fast broadband connection.

Hi, what a stoke of luck, I must have read Chunsum.s post early and beat the crowd... Thanks for the heads up.. it's sooo cool.

Anybody the same experience? The installer does not work on the Macos X. No matter what I try it crashes already when trying to uninstall the old version

Just do a file find for 'Sigma', trash those files and then install the new version.

How broad is your broadband? I did it on cable internet in less than 10 minutes about 3 hours ago or so. I could not get it to download with netscape and had to use internet explorer.

it's my brainband.

Maybe in the morning i'll have the gumption and gusto. (not to mention the gall, guts and go with the flow)

besides, the more i get to read what everyone's results are, the less i have to experiment myself. (i know, it's cheating. anybody else want to cut the line and give me your 2cents?)

now i know that more than 10-15min and somethings not working-

It's a fast cable connection. I'm using a download manager and the down;pad keeps halting. I've also tried using IE and I get about 20 megs and it halts. I've had a sleepless night so I decided to check the download now - it halted again so I restarted it and now have just over 43 megs with about 45 minutes to go. Right now I'm connected at 7200 kbps, the software is downloading at 10 kbps. I've just downloaded another file that was 8 megs and it took 9 seconds.

Took me over an hour here in the U.K. With a 512 kbaud link at my end,
the download only ran at 19.6 kbaud.

Of course with a permanent connection the time didn't matter.

No problem with Netscape though, I avoid IE whenever possible.

SPP2.0 AUTO WB AUTO OUTPUT

SPP2.1 AUTO WB AUTO OUTPUT

Originals here:
http://www.pbase.com/chunsum/temp

I give Sigma and Foveon a BIG BIG pat on the back for this upgrade.
WOW!
Just what I need! I took lots of pictures in my brothers wedding, and
got lots of greenish skin in spp2.0 . The color wheel on auto often makes
a little jump in the green direction. Seems I won't have to correct so
much in the future. The correction is easy enough, but a chore with
170 images. Now, if they could make a linux version so I won't have to run
windows remotely . . .

Oh, and that's a nice baby picture. :-)

I don't have any "file sharing" problems. And all ntewrking is working great. I have a PB 1.5GHz and it's quick in Photoshop and SPP.. very nice computer.. I use dualscreens and it works truly great with different profiles on each screen (so I emulate a PC on the other) .. it's GREAT!

:) All software I needed is there and they're all stable! :D
VirtualPC is a memory hog, and I had terrible problems with it when
I first switched. Now that MS owns it (I think) it may have
improved, but until I get a dual G5 with at least 1gig RAM, I'm not
going to even bother trying.

The good news is you'll be very happy with the Mac, and you will
find few cross-platform problems, esp. with file sharing. Also,
there is a great deal of knowlegde wealth from gentlemen like Wiki
and Thomas if you get in a pinch.

I'm debating myself what to buy (new Mac v. new SDx) when Sigma
produces it's new replacement.

Hoo Rah!@#
Can't wait to download SPP V2.1 Yesternight after reading a few
complaints about the SD9's lack of low light capabilities, I took
my cam to a local pub, ordered a virgin Shirley Temple and began
shooting at the tipsy crowd. I used a flash f5.6 1/30 of a
second, and i was EXTREMELY pleased with the results :)
Regretably I can't post them b/c the 'models' in question don't
wish to go online:) But I can only imagine how much more fun I
will have once I install SPP2.1 when I arrive home.

Secondly, for all those who are compassionate and caring in my
regards. Speak now or forever hold your peace. Instead of new
lens/ new SD10, I will be acquiring at Powerbook G4 with SupaDrive
to extend my on the road 'capabilities' But my excuse is .. I
will use this Laptop for 'school' University of Phoenix Online....
:® What a way of justifying equipment :)

A,

Color me red in the face - I just noticed that I don't have Sigma U.S. come up for me in my Favorites - I have Sigma Japan English version - sorry about that. I guess I wanted to go right to the "horse's mouth" when I bookmarked it ages ago... :-)

CJ
A,

I got mine off the Sigma U.S. site - something must be wrong on
your end.
Got it--thanks much CJM
