SPP 2.1

Thanks Chunsum,

A question, anyone know why the huge difference in file size between Mac (17MB) and Windows (60MB). Just curious !!

No equipment worth talking about....!!!

Another pair of old vs. new - I couln't get the yellow tone out of the wall without turning the fluorescent lights really blue:

Also, highlights (flats' windows, fluorescent tubes) had halos around which are tuned wey down. But, what's more important, is the blotchy noise in shadows - check the rail tracks in the lower left part before and after - gone!

looks good to me. I wonder what this does for the skin tones.....
Not sure about it yet but I have the imression that the
colordifferences between 2.0 and 2.1 are more obvious with SD9
files.

I say it does a very nice job with skin tone.

I see sleepless nights ahead for me as I put past images through 2.1, all 3600 of them. and redoing some panos........ exploring hidden gems.......

I'm so psyched.....

this could be bad..... :)
...for the Junior!

The monochrome setting is fun too!

Bob,
Your question has been ignored in general excitement.

No, you do not need the drivers at all unless you want to transfer images via the wire. I do not know about the drivers update/compatibility - I am just swapping CF cards between camera and laptop.

Cheers,
W.
Thanks for the heads-up about 2.1.

The installation instructions show how to install camera drivers.
Are these updated, too? Are they necessary to appreciate the
updated software?

And I agree about the slow connection. Must be everyone hitting
them at once.

Bob

no pbase page but a few pictures I've taken can be seen here:

Note: lightning pictures taken with Olympus E-20. All others with
SD10.

Chunsum,

Yes, I discovered your thread, downloaded (32 minutes) SPP 2.1 (without camera) and spent a good hour or more on just a few of my "dogs" that I was ready to dump into the trash can. Glad I didn't. Now for the rest - fortunately only about 500 images left.

Chunsum, that was a very timely "heads up". Congrats!!!

Yes, ... mad as He!!.

After spending months tweaking images in PS, downloading every PS action that came along to render better skintones, reaing post after post about skintone problems, .... Sigma sees fit to release SPP 2.1 and by so doing, make this all a moot point!

Sigma has the last laugh.

Well done Sigma!
