Photo paper cost increase

Received an unpleasant update when I went to order more epson 13 x 19 premium glossy photo paper. I year ago 20 sheets were $39 now $62. Ouch! Similar increase on 50 sheets of premium luster. Roughly a whopping 50% increase in one year.

Given the amount of the price increase, there would seem to be more at work here than Trump's tariffs.

There is currently a 50% tariff on India and Brazil, but I suppose that the paper isn't from there.

We are in the middle of adding an additional 4 papers to our lineup and the first three were just under $3,000 for 81/2x11, 11x17, 13x19, 17" roll and 24" roll. Would really like to add the Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Metallic but it is pushing $1,500 for a set. Not sure it will sell and I may just wait on that one but put it on our website. If we get orders I can just order the appropriate sizes. We like to stock papers we advertise on our website but the cost is just too high.--

As much as I love the Hahnemuele Photo Rag Satin paper, it is now pushing $300 a roll (24" x 39'), which is absurd. I have been looking into the Breathing Color for made-in the US options, and so far, so good. I will stop buying Epson as well if they continue to jack up prices.
