I bought the canon digital paper variety pack to try out my pro9000markII and ended up liking the semi-gloss paper a lot. I'm not a fan of the super-glossy papers because I think they're too shiny, and I like the texture that the semi-glossy has. So I was going to buy a larger pack of the semi-gloss paper on B&H at 20 sheets (13x19) for $27, when I noticed they also sell a Satin Photographic Paper (13x19) at 100 sheets for $47. This is a much better cost per sheet. Has anybody used this paper before? I'm not sure what the difference is between the Photo Paper Plus Semi Glossy and Satin Photographic Paper.

The big difference is brightness/weight & thickness.... 270gsm for the semi-gloss compared to 190gsm for the satin, and 10.2 mil thick for semi-gloss compared to 7 mil for the satin. The satin will feel very thin and cheap compared to the semigloss and photos will look duller.

Growing old is not an option.... acting young is.

If you are shopping to purchase Canon paper, keep in mind the Canon site has many of its papers on sale. The current offer is buy one, get two free. It is not a typo. It might be worth your effort to see if the papers you want are included.

Wow... good to know. Thanks!

I just checked this and you're absolutely right. I can get 60 sheets of 13x19 and 60 sheets of 8x10 (both semi-glossy) for $75 (after $18 shipping and tax), where it would have cost $117 on B&H. If I only were to buy one pack of each it would still be cheaper on B&H though... but I don't think there's any harm in stocking up on paper.
