Welcome to the Weekly Image Thread!

This thread will appear every Saturday (GMT). If the thread is nearing full before the next Saturday, I may start a new thread and carry on until it fills or the next Saturday arrives and it is reasonably full in which case I will start another. Confused, so am I! From time to time the start could be delayed if I am unavailable.

Although this Weekly thread is in the Olympus SLR forum, we openly welcome users of all brands and models.

Please:

  1. Reply to this post and change the TITLE!
  2. Please reply to at least one other contribution, your replies encourage posters!!!
  3. If asked, please share your processing techniques or technical details.
  4. Please show the EXIF if possible. Please identify the lens used regardless of which camera was used to take the image. This helps people form opinions of the lens used with the body to possibly influence future acquisitions.
  5. If special lighting was used to create your image stating what was done may help others.
Thanks for joining and contributing this week.

I have shown this car before. I spent a considerable amount of time playing with old files and trying to get a different result. I think I killed a lot of time with not much to show for it.

Andrew

The car was shot at the Marshville Heritage Festival. All the cars displayed there are drivers. A few have had good restorations but many are home restorations, touch up, or even unrestored totally. The Terraplane is a driver with bugs in the grill, cracks etc in the paint and likely someone is enjoying the heck out of it.

Me too, Andrew. New DB12. Twin-turbo V8. Super fast. Cost as much as the average American house.

Your car photos are always great, Andrew. The post-processing is always appealing.

This was so much fun. I've been there twice in a month and I'm ready to go again. More events on the calendar first.

The OM-1 and the 40-150+ the 2XTC is just great for this event. I have to remember to shoot a higher shutter speed. But for composition, capturing the horses will all four hooves off the ground - makes it easy. Have to carry a second camera though for when they race by your side of the field. One on a wrist strap and one on a shoulder strap.

The Polo field is 7X the size of an American football field. They play can be pretty far away.

These are interesting to view. There appears to be a tendency to make classic cars street rods. I like the originals better.

It's an art form. A blue-collar culture. You don't have to like it.

Some very nice cars and some very nice fillies!

An easy choice, but opposite, if you are young or old; a difficult choice if you are in the middle:

Young - red old the roller (can't get in and out of the red)

Which one to take today?

Very nice work Andrew - the paintwork matches the house :-D

An invasion of Canada Geese under the cover of early morning mist?

Plenty of berries.

I tried to grow a hedge of these plants and failed - but the birds spread them everywhere!
