Welcome to the Weekly Image Thread!

This thread will appear every Saturday (GMT). If the thread is nearing full before the next Saturday, I may start a new thread and carry on until it fills or the next Saturday arrives and it is reasonably full in which case I will start another. Confused, so am I! From time to time the start could be delayed if I am unavailable.

Although this Weekly thread is in the Olympus SLR forum, we openly welcome users of all brands and models.

Please:

  1. Reply to this post and change the TITLE!
  2. Please reply to at least one other contribution, your replies encourage posters!!!
  3. If asked, please share your processing techniques or technical details.
  4. Please show the EXIF if possible. Please identify the lens used regardless of which camera was used to take the image. This helps people form opinions of the lens used with the body to possibly influence future acquisitions.
  5. If special lighting was used to create your image stating what was done may help others.
Thanks for joining and contributing this week.

Lovely images Andrew.

We don't have blooms like that yet though with yesterday's rain it is starting to green up here.

Looks like spring has sprung... really like the purple ones toward the end. Pretty flowers well captured.

Back up on San Bruno Mountain... 7? shots stitched with MSICE. And, yes Andrew, it's usually hazy here in the afternoon.

Background left to right... Berkeley (look for the tall spire), Oakland, Mt. Diablo, San Leandro, Hayward and foreground left to right... San Francisco, Daly City and Brisbane, CA

Thanks Joe.

The ones with purple around the edges are varieties of hellebores. We have a few different varieties. One is mostly purple but it was uncooperative facing straight down!

Nicely done Joe. That one subdivision looks out of place with its shape and homes compared to the rest of the area. It must be a relative new comer to the area! I wish I had a hill to climb up around here to take images from!

Andrew

Andrew... you'd rather drive this one. It goes from sea level to 1,400 feet above.

It is fun having access to hills and ridges, some to walk and others to drive. I grew up in South Jersey where the highest peak was 300 feet above sea level. The other advantage here is most of the taller hills are grass and shrub covered, so you don't have to shoot between trees!

That's a very dramatic difference. I like it.

Beautiful flowers, as always, Andrew. I like the first image best. The reds are looking good.

Out in the Eel River Valley looking east along Grizzly Bluff Road. This is the main road where I find hawks, in season. Looking for flowers now, but too early. Rich

7 panels in horizontal stacked with Autopano Giga, which was offered 8 panels but only wanted 7 of them.
