Welcome to the Weekly Image Thread!

This thread will appear every Saturday (GMT). If the thread is nearing full before the next Saturday, I may start a new thread and carry on until it fills or the next Saturday arrives and it is reasonably full in which case I will start another. Confused, so am I! From time to time the start could be delayed if I am unavailable.

Although this Weekly thread is in the Olympus SLR forum, we openly welcome users of all brands and models.

Please:
  1. Reply to this post and change the TITLE!
  2. Please reply to at least one other contribution, your replies encourage posters!!!
  3. If asked, please share your processing techniques or technical details.
  4. Please show the EXIF if possible. Please identify the lens used regardless of which camera was used to take the image. This helps people form opinions of the lens used with the body to possibly influence future acquisitions.
  5. If special lighting was used to create your image stating what was done may help others.

Well this is not really 900, it is just labelled 900. A year or more ago I had part twos and some part threes before starting a new thread on Saturday or late Friday night. I abandoned that practice and started labelling each new thread with a new number instead of having multiparts. In the early days we never reached the maximum number of 149 replies to a thread. Some numbers were in fact very low. I even considered stopping the thread at times since the numbers were around twenty.

So what is in a number?? Who knows but I am not likely going to go back and count! This was a temporary job I took over from Lou Holland when he got banned for a period of time. I miss Lou here and hope he is doing well!

Beautiful as always, Andrew. The flowers are fantastic. My favorite is the third image. You managed to get focus on the butterfly between the two flowers.

Love the flutterbye snaps! They are very pretty. Wish we had more here. Reminds me of my days on the East Coast.
 
Thanks for sharing... the flowers here at this time of year are wilted shadows of their former selves.
 
Skyline Boulevard (Highway), aka SR 35, runs from Highway 17 (Santa Cruz Hwy.) north and west along the central and western portions of the San Francisco Peninsula. In Pacifica, it runs along the crest of the coastal hills and provides a nice fog barrier.

That looks fairly close to the shore line Joe. Could be a good view for those that live there if it is not always foggy! If that is your blue pickup truck at least it is all downhill to get it!

Nice to look through Craig. The second stands out for me. Lovely flowers set off against a dark background makes it dramatic and eye catching.

A better distant view in the second Joe but I like the curvy street with no visible buildings best. It gives at least a hint of being distant from a horde of people!

It was flitting here and there Craig. You would move to get into position for a nice cameo and off it would go to another location. Here it was playing hide and seek but not doing a great job of it.

Do you miss the east coast Joe and have any desire to relocate? If not for friends and family we might be tempted to move but with housing prices the way they are we likely could not afford what we would want!

Living in the sticks with a few neighbours about has dulled any desire to live in any sort of metropolitan area. Spending a couple of nights a year in downtown Toronto is about it for me and since covid we have not been there once.

I like the dark backgrounds as well, particularly for red roses.

The post has familiar material (shot this morning). I wasn't planning on posting more images of roses today, but the previous thread filled up very quickly.

I'm amazed that it stitched. Inside the roundhouse and up against the wall. Very frustrating to have to stay so close. When its open for visitors all the doors, windows and skylights are open. Not this day and it was dark in there. I'm going back with more lighting as I'd rather light it than shoot around visitors.

I decided to try a pano. I only tried one as I knew it wouldn't work. I will go back and attempt more panos with 12-100 and 8-25.

Two panels, with Oly FL 50r on camera used TTL and camera set to max it out. Rich
