Sample images are up

and the ISO 3200 looks eminently usable... I like, I like :-)
Yes, looking at the ISO 1600 images I am surprised by the lack of apparent noise in the images, and ISO 3200 is VERY good looking for that speed!

after comparing shots, I have to agree with Phil that in the ISO 1600 & 3200 range the 20D is about one stop better. I've read somewhere in the blurr of the 20D posts that rumors were two stops, but I did find that hard to swallow.

Nice overall considering it's an 8mp image on a similar sized sensor as my 10D.

  • this camera definately looks like everything I have hoped for for about 2 years of painful P & S use.
The images are fantastic, and that's what really matters to me :)

Canon are claiming that the 20D is as good at 1600 as the 10D is at 400. (unless I am mis-quoting them)

So far that doesnt appear to be the case, although I am still mightily impressed with the higher ISO images. (thats when I have been able to download a few)

Me too. Just pre-ordered from Adroma. I've heard it mentioned here a few times and assume it's legit. I know there's a ton of websites out there that try to rip you off.

Anyway, I've been waiting for this camera for the last 2 years. Been using P&S cameras mostly that I borrowed from people. Didn't like the Rebel and heard the 10D was soon to be replaced so I decided to wait. Now I'm glad I did.

Phil's gallery is awesome. The pics look about as good as a 1DMk II.

With this new camera I'm going to RULE! Yes I know it's not the camera but the photographer but I would much rather shot with a 20D than my mom's canon ELF.

Maybe the prduction model will live up to the 2 stop quote. (lower noise)

I'm impressed so far....

Nobody from Canon has ever said that to me although I think I read it on another site, honestly I wouldn't publish anything like that without being sure, the EOS 20D is incredibly good at high ISO's but not ISO 400 good.
