Hello, I am fairly knowledgeable about photography but I am new to studio photography and utilizing lighting units. I am looking to do a studio shoot to promote my clothing brand. I am utilizing a photo studio on my college campus which has everything I need including a Godox AD300 lighting system. The only thing missing is a Godox flash trigger to use the equipment. I am trying to avoid buying a Godox trigger if possible and I already have a Yongnuo yn622c trigger. Is there any way to fire Godox AD300pro lights utilizing a Yongnuo yn622c trigger and transceiver? I have been scouring the internet for answers but I don't fully understand the terminology and haven’t been able to find a clear answer. I tried hooking the Yongnuo trigger to my Nanlite Forza 60's a while ago and wasn’t able to find a way to do so. Is there a way to utilize the Yongnuo and Godox products together in this way?

Side question: for studio shoots is it necessary to have lighting connected to my camera and firing whilst taking the image? Would having the Godox AD300pros and Nanlite Forza 60's on constantly while shooting provide the same or adequate results? From what I know as long as the lighting is there and at the desired angles the effect would be the same. I am curious if using a flash trigger is truly necessary for this shoot.

You can trigger the AD300Pro via its 3.5mm Sync socket. Your YN622C has a PC terminal so you can use a PC to 3.5mm cable. If you have more than one AD300Pro you can trigger the rest optically from the first one.

This is difficult and messy to set up, especially if this is the first time you have used these lights. I'm very suprised that this studio doesn't have a trigger for you to use. Try talking to the person responsible for the studio and see what advice they can give you

Mixing the Forza60 with this setup is not a good idea

What Tug said is spot on (if memory serves, it always is).

If you can’t get a Godox trigger from the studio, find another studio. Better yet as a teacher there for help if you’re a student or hire a student to shoot the clothing line you’re looking to sell. Factor that cost into the price of the garments

If you have a tripod and are shooting objects that don't move, you can use the model lights of the AD300s.

I support the idea of buying a Godox trigger. It'll make your life so much easier.
