Is anyone with an XT2 noticing the color temperature of the LCD to be somewhat yellow/green? Mine is, at least compared to my XE2, phone, and computer. Is there any way to adjust that?

Yes, I have the same problem. I exchanged my first XT2 for another and the problem was the same. I contacted Fuji UK tech support who acknowledged the difference between LCD and EVF on their sample camera and said they would log this issue for further investigation. Personally, I am tempted to return my XT2 for a refund and wait and see if this issue is resolved with an update. My camera shop are happy to refund me now, but not if I wait for any length of time to see if an update is released to resolve the issue. Shame really. This camera suits all my requirements, but the LCD colour tint is not acceptable to me. This problem does not occur on the XT1 or the XE2.

Menu setup/screen/lcd color. You can adjust the color there.

From my understanding that adjust the amount/saturation of color, but not the temperature/tint. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Unfortunately I found that changing the LCD colour value has little or no effect. In fact on my XT2, the LCD colour adjusment seems to be more of a saturation tool than a hue adjustment. As a further example of the problem, try entering the firmware update screen(Disp/Back button held while turning the camera on). In this mode there is a lot of white background on the LCD which really highlights the warm tint. On the XT1 and XE2 this screen really is pure white. On a practical level, the problem is that the EVF has a slightly different colour cast than the LCD. Not very helpful when trying to determine white balance.

I have also noted this on my copy so it is one item that needs reporting but will be addressed in the next FW update.

Comparing to X-PRO2 I had before.

I'm from Japan, encountered exactly the same problem.
I have contacted to the Fujifilm Support, they said
"We already know about that problem, but we cannot take any actions. It's by design."
I looked many copy of X-T2 in the store, most of them has white screen.
Only some X-T2 has Yellow. Is that 'design'??

In Japan, we cannot get return-refund due to our business practice.
Really disgusted:-(

I have a replacement camera coming Tuesday and I'll be interested to see if the color is any different. If not, I plan to call Fuji and request they add a screen color temperature option to a future firmware update. That would be a nice feature to have regardless.

The supports status has changed.
They say "We are investigating that problem, please wait for a while".

I too have reported this issue to Fuji in the UK. They acknowledged the difference between EVF and LCD and said they would pass this on to Fuji in Japan. I really do hope they correct this. This is the one issue that is spoiling my overall enjoyment of the camera. The screens on the XE2 and XT1 are more or less identical. Can't understand why more users/reviewers haven't reported this.

is that the answer to your ills?

An update: I received a replacement X-T2, and the color temperature is noticeably better, and accurate enough for me to edit photos on my camera (while realizing color temperatures of different screens will all be slightly different -- for example, my iPhone's screen is on the cool/pink side). If your X-T2's screen is very yellow, as mine first one was, it might be worth seeing if you can exchange it for another. My new X-T2 still leans slightly to the warm side, but again, it's much closer to reality, and accurate enough to be happy with.

Still, it would be really great for Fuji to include an option on the camera to adjust the temperature of the LCD.

If I turn Preview Pic Effect on I get VERY red image before & after exposure. If I turn it off I get same redness after exposure

I noticed the difference of color temperature of EVF vs LCD on may X-T2.

The LCD is significand "warmer" (e.g. yellow/green tint) compared to the EVF (which is more neutral/ cooler/bluer/magenta)

I called the Fujifilm-Service of my country and I got to talk to an real expert (instead of an simple call center agent. As I side note: I am an engineer myself...So I am sure I was talking to someone with expert knowledge)

First information:

- EVF and LCD is calibrated during the manufacturing process.
- Each camera gets there own individual calibration values written during manufacturing.

-> So every X-T2 should have perfect calibration after manufacturing.

Possible "user" irritation:
- The EVF-brighness in auto-Mode may lead to an difference
So try to manual set the brightness similar of LCD and EVF according to your ambient light (maybe comparing the LCD to EVF in bright sunlight is not the best way... :-))

Of course EVF and LCD use a different technology. So a slight difference is to be expected.

However:

Even after adjusting brightness and saturation of both displays in my X-T2 still the COLOR temperaturestill varies. The LCD is still a lot warmer.

Recommended action from fuji-service:

If the LCD and EVF still differ in color temperature significantly then you should send the X-T2 in to the fujifilm-service center for a simple check.

Fujifilm can measure the color tempreature of both LCD and EVF. If necessary fujifilm will then write new calibration values to your camera.

Hope this helps someone :-)

Hi Alex,

I too notice that the LCD is a lot warmer than the EVF. I called Fujifilm repair service in USA and they've never done any calibrations as a repair. Which Fujifilm service center did you call? What was the phone number?

Thanks,

Alan

For what it's worth, I compared the LCD color/tint with my X-T1. Here it is.

X-T2 on the left and the X-T1 on the right. Notice the difference in color of the LCD.

My X-T1's LCD and EVF have the same color/tint and are identical to the files on camera.

I can recommendet the Fuji Service in Germany.

In the past they fixed my focus engine in the XF 35 1.4. And they fixed an stuck button on the X-T10. Free of charge and to my full satisfaction.

Yep. Same here: My X-T2 is more green/ yellow than my X-T10 on LCD.
