Tried SPP with Wine and got nothing but errors, after trying to save/export.

Is there any Linux tool folks use for processing Sigma's RAW Foveon format, for recommendations?

Current workflow initially is using dcraw to convert X3F files to TIFF then going from there in Krita / Darkroom.

Regards,

JP

Greetings,

I am not a techie so I cannot suggest any solutions, only that I use Linux Mint and it works fine. It may be a problem with having the correct packages and versions.

Which distro are you running?

From personal experience...the best output to be gained from X3F is via Sigma Photo Pro.

dcraw just did not fulfil my requirements. And i have done quite a bit of experimentation with the same. Also, i believe Dave Coffin is now full time employed with a company and no longer actively maintaining dcraw.

Most recent Linux distributions were able to run Sigma Photo Pro version 6x just fine. At least from what i read online.

My personal laptop with Linux in dual boot suffered keyboard failure. So the Linux experience is on hold for me till i take time out to get my head around TPM and Secure BIOS...as the newer machines i got are complaining to co-exist with Linux :-( ...Windows actually...who have arm twisted the hardware manufacturers.

Found this in the wild:

Will try it. I changed my OS to Bunsenlabs (basically Debian 12.x w/ customized UI)

Will report back in any case

Turns out it is way too much effort to chase the tail in getting all this to work. Another option is to run Windows something in virtualbox and load the files to link a folder from the Linux host.
I'll add some screenshots so folks can see what kind of challenge in futility getting SPP working on top of Linux. Yes I am winning [wine-hq].

Also anyone know if SPP will run on 32bit Windows XP instance? I have a system running XP for specialized hardware.
