Unfortunately - contrary to belief, installing UK firmware doesn't make the camera weatherproof or meter better in dull weather - and thankfully No, it doesn't play "Rule Britannia" when you enter movie mode either.....great. I believe the camera looks somewhat more urbane than it did previously as a result. ;> )

i was cautious and wanted to wait but decided to go for it finally and it worked like a charm and camera works fine. rl

--I used the Euro Firmware upgrade on my NEX5 and now the pic size only goes to 12MP.
youve done it and it works? that sounds just as strange as to why sony usa has yet to get the fw upgrade. lisa
