Rawtherapee and Fuji X raw converter thing.

Might be changing in the future tho, as I might want to change to something with colour wheels to make things easier to do some stuff I currently arent doing.

I would like to draw some attention to Cyberlink's Photodirector 10 Ultra. The program is relatively unknown but it's got an excellent range of editing tools including layer-based editing. I think it's a viable alternative to Lightroom, but at a reduced cost.

I use lightroom. I don't care enough to use software with a "better" RAW processing algorithm, although there is no denying that lightroom is less than ideal. "worms". It's just too convenient, and I don't see them enough to warrant a switch. Can always process in camera, too. Maybe if I was going for a large print, I would process in something else.

Does anyone use luminar? I had downloaded that a while back when it first came out, and i believe they've been updating it consistently. Last time i used it, it was so SLOW.

You might consider Capture 1 Express for Fuji...extremely nice, free software. Great for RAW processing. I use it for RAW and Affinity for JPEG manipulations.

I heard the free/open-source darktable is very similar to LR, without the "worms" :-) I don't use LR so I can't confirm, but you can take a quick tour of darktable to see if that's something to consider:

darktable is buttery smooth on my 2yo Dell laptop (i5-7300HQ, 16GB, GTX 1050Ti), it makes very good use of the GPU, even much more than LR.

Capture 1 V12.

Amazing software!!

...sometimes supplemented by Affinity Photo.

Adobe left me when they quit updating cameras for 6.14. I am not playing the subscription game. After a lot of testing, I have settled on using FastRawViewer to cull my images and ON1 2019 to process them. I never really used LR catalog system. I have my own file schema for images and videos. I did use VSCO film presets in LR but was able to convert those to LUTs which ON1 supports. The only thing I really miss about LR is the auto-straighten feature. That was a big time saver. It worked about 85-90% of the time. No other program that I evaluated has that one button feature. I do have a copy of Irident X-transformer if I ever run across a difficult Fuji raw file.
But... It's not cheaper to buy and/or upgrade Capture One each year... You can subsribe to CO as well these days. I've never understood the reluctance to the subscriptions. Take LR and PS for example. It's cheaper to subscribe to them than to buy them.. And you don't have to bind yourselves to it for years on end, you can quit when you want to (basically).
I said ON1, not Capture 1. In a free market, competition leads to innovation. If everyone used Adobe they would become complacent and everyone would suffer. I never really liked LR’s catalog system and when they quit updating 6.14 that was enough to make me look elsewhere.

As for subscriptions, I like to own the SW and then I decide when I want to update not the SW vendor. Kind of like owning your own home or car instead of leasing. It is nice to have options and it keeps Adobe innovating too.

I just updated and Luminar is practically useless for my machine still, and it's no slouch with i7 16gb ram and SSDs
