The Tucker images do not have profiles
so I assume that Safari assigns sRGB but in Photoshop, Apple RGB
best matches the Safari message.

Safari assumes sRGB for untagged images like IE 4.5 and 5.0 on the Mac when ColorSycn is set on in preferences. You don't need to embed sRGB in the files for web with these browsers (and other browsers just don't understand anything about color spaces so all bets are off).
