I've read Phil's review of the E-10 several times and have 2 questions still.

1). Is the Oly RAW file proprietary?? I use Canon RAW and prefer it--because I shoot a lot of IR, I sometimes edit the white point in RAW. Is this possible in the E-10?? Also--do most use the Oly software for upload/conversion?? I'm using software that I think is only applicable to the Canon RAW that allows us to edit and convert--terrific. Canon's software is awful, IMO. BTW, I use a cardreader and generally copy the files to my HD and then convert as I have time.

2.) What is the largest print that you feel is excellent quality from the E-10? I noticed on another thread this evening that Frank (I believe) had a 16 x 20 and a 20 x 30 printed by Ofoto. How realistic is that??

Thanks for your time.

Sorry Diane only one question per customer ;-)

As far a print size it depends on the subject matter and how sharp the picture is and what distance you view the print at. I have printed 13x19 prints on my Epson 1280 and I think they look great but I picked ones that would blowup well. So its something you need to do and see what is best for you.

The more I play with the E-10, the more convinced I am that it is actually better than trying to blow up a 35mm print. It might not equal a good medium format; but, seems incredibly close at 13x19. I plan to have much larger images printed becuase I am convinced that I will NOT be wasting my money.

Of course, ALL the prints are processed in PhotoShop first. I also use Genuine Fractals to enlarge the prints with as little loss as possible.

I, too, shoot in RAW or TIFF. But, I only use the Olympus RAW conversion in PS6 with the 'AUTO' mode... so, I'm not sure what one could do with it if they had the skill and knowledge to fiddle.
