Hi everybody, I have three cameras that I keep at least two sitting on top of my gun case at all times so I can grab and go with one if I see something outside my house. I really don`t like putting them away in the backpack or get them out every time I want to use them. . The problem is they are getting dusty sitting up there waiting on me to use it and I would like to keep the dust off. So I was trying to think of something that will keep the dust off but still be able to get to them quickly. I found these clear shoe box bens on Amazon to keep them in.

Amazon.com: BALEINE 12 Pack Stackable Shoe Storage Boxes Fit Size 9, Thickened Clear Shoe Box Bins with Lids, Plastic Foldable Organizer Sneaker Storage Containers (Large, Black) : Home & Kitchen

It looks like with these boxes I would be able to get my cameras out fairly quickly.

Does anyone have a better idea for something to keep them in? They are cheap but I don`t mind spending a little more for something better. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

I have a camera cabinet. It's nothing fancy-- just an unfinished kitchen cabinet I got at a big box home improvement store. It sits on top of a low bookcase in my studio. I have two shelves in it, so including the inside bottom I have three good sized flat spaces. That gives me plenty of room for my cameras, each with a lens on it, plus room for my extra lenses behind the cameras and a plastic basket on one shelf for small bits and pieces. It is not secure or airtight, but it keeps the dust off and it's much quicker to grab a camera out of the closed cabinet than to unsnap the lid off one of those plastic bins.

My solution is to set the cameras on a shelf and put an old pillowcase over them. It keeps the dust off and is quickly removable if I need to grab a camera quickly. No case to buy or open.

While dust is not worrying me, humidity is. Therefore I am storing my cameras and lens in an auto dey cabinet to protect long unused gear and allowse to take them out/place them back easily:

This costed me ~US$100 but no fungus worrying.

Before it, I used air tight food storage boxes plus plenty of silica gel. Very efficient, low cost but not as convenient to take them out/store them easy as the above cabinet. I had to replace the silica gel regularly too. :-(

Thanks everyone for your ideas! The pillowcase is a good idea, I might try that first seeing how I already have a pillow.
