Split the board

Would be great to not have to filter through posts of people who just got their first DSLR.

A post quality level as in the Nikon full frame forum at dpreview would be super.

I already find myself reading it now and then, although I don't own any of those cameras.

Agreed for a split DSLT and DSLR.

As not having an A-700 replacement in last quarter 2010, there are significantly more FF users shooting Sony.(myself included. got tired of waiting!)

I'm kinda partial to video, but I'm hangin!

...would get my vote. Perhaps an SLT Forum would be just as popular as the NEX one appears to be. There are distinct differences between these three designs that (generally) seem to appeal to different tastes.

I would personally like to see the following.
Beginners - Intermediate - Advanced. Regardless of the cameras involved.

In any case I enjoy reading most of the comments here, especially by those who are serious about their photography. I dislike intensely personal attacks on others.

I have picked up a lot of information that has helped me to become a better photographer, thanks to the informative comments on this site.

IMHO, full frame users are more seriously invested in their gear (literally) and by inference, their approach to photography.

Let's get more people to buy Sony's FF cameras and then if the number is enough the board can be split. SLT should stay with DSLR are they use the same mount and the a700 replacement will be a SLT with a nice EVF and better IQ and more functions.

When your current system does not satisfy you, it is better to switch than to cry and whine on the forums.

the input of other brands users they have brought balance.

to much bickering in this forum every time.

for me as a longtime Nikon user i dont give apesh*t what kind of Nikon body another one is using as long the purpose is producing photographs and people are willing to learn.

as we all can learn from each other.

From what I have seen (for all brands), FF users simply have more discretionary income. - TF
So let them buy their own dang site! ;-)

This coming from a brand user that has separate forums for different bodies. Actually, I like the way Nikon forums are separated; especially for the lens forum where we all do come together.

I really like your idea Alpha Jack, that would be of great value.

I am going to be wasting other peoples time when I am showing examples of the shallowness of the depth of field on my 135 1.8 CZ on a full frame camera. Most are not going to understand or care, and the real advice I need is from other full frame shooters.

Then put that in the title. It's reall not that hard to have a title say what is in the post. - TF

I still think Alpha Jack is right; we are the worthy of having separate forums for our technologically distinctly different cameras.

have photography boards that are genre specific like other sites do:
people, sports, wildlife, macro etc....

That way people that are interested in photography and technique can discuss/share with like minded individuals. After all, if you want to be a better macro shooter - you'll learn a lot more from a Nikon macro photog than you will from 100 Sony photogs that don't shoot macro.

When you do that, the gear board threads will think out. And a lot of people who are interested in photography and not always about debating or reading debates on whether the latest model from their brand is the best camera on the market can discuss topics that are specific to the photography.

Truth is - I think this is more beneficial than arbitrary segmenting camera models within brand
