I just don't understand these kind of pointless posts. Darn, life is
just too short to spend it bellyaching, agonizing, and feeling
miserable when you say yourself that the solution is go get a Nikon
or Canon. Just do it and move on.
There was another guy sometime back posting messages full of angst
that Sony didn't have a Nikon D3. The answer was obvious: get a D3.
I think after weeks or months of complaining he finally did.

Clearly, you too missed the point. Sony released an advanced amateur,
semi pro camera which would lead most purchasers to believe they
would release similar quality lenses in a reasonable time frame.
I think you ASSumed too much and now blame Sony... list which lenses
they promised when you bought the A700 that you want now? Anything
not promised is an ASSumption by you.
Now those of us who purchased the camera believing this, have a nice
camera, without the needed lenses, that can't be sold without taking
a tremendous loss, since its apparent that most of the advance
amateur-semi pro world is avoiding it like the plague.
And you document this how? or are you again ASSuming you know stuff
without facts...
Not because it
isn't a fine camera, obviously it is, so you tell me why?
Now if you'd like to buy my A700 with grip and spare batteries for
90% of what I paid for it, I'll happily head over to the Canon store.

You really are a victim aren't you? You can't choose a new system
because someone else won't pay for your error in buying the right
camera for your style because you ASSumed there would be a dozen new
lenses coming out in 6 months.... We ain't your mommy its not our job
to kiss your boo boos and make them better..
Be a man sell the camera on Ebay and go be happy.. why would you let
a few dollars keep you from the Canon Utopian Bliss you long for?
