Sony A7C II, better than initially thought, I was wrong.

I love my GRIII but it would be a lot better with Sony level autofocus.

I am also a long time duel Sony A7RX and Ricoh GRX user (X meaning I have used various iterations, not the X/40mm version of the Ricoh); and have been keeping an eye on the A7C series for when it may be worth becoming my street shooter. Would like to see it get a bit more tactile - like the Nikon ZF - and would like to see some smaller and more interesting lenses come out (like the Panasonic 18-40 and the Nikon 26 pancake or Canon 28); but nice to hear good impressions. For now it doesn't seem small enough to bring me over from true pocket point and shoots - hoping Sony comes out with something new and interesting this year from one of the RX lines.

Unfortunately I think Cybershot is pretty much dead development wise, which bums me out as I would love an AI-enhanced RX100.

Use snap focus, it’s really easy to use if you understand the way it works and in most situations just works.

What’s wrong with the tiny G series 28/40/50?

I keep hoping and waiting for that. Think the whole GR community feels that way. But the frustrating misses in perfectly well lit situation is what got me to explore other options.

Have all three and they're excellent. I think that most folks want(ed) these to be f2.0 and remain this small. There's definitely a place for premium compact lenses for these cameras, say like Leica M or Voightlander glass but with AF. Have the Sigma 90mm and that's a gem. Hoping for something longer and tiny from Sony or Sigma. But Sigma does have f2 premium build compact lenses in 24, 35, 50, and 90mm. Just not as small the Sony G lenses.

This is great to hear... I am looking to upgrade from my A7III; was initially thinking of the A7IV but I kind of hate the size of the III + my lenses

Thinking to reconfig the kit to prioritize size and still get the goodness of the 33MP sensor. Really hits the sweet spot of resolution IMO and 10 bit video will be a plus for our content business. Just hurts to see how much A7III prices have absolutely cratered.
buy a gen behind or deal with the costs.

they are indeed bad resale equipment, but that's just how it goes with cameras.

on thread topic, the Cii and CR really are incredible little cameras. Very capable AND very polished. Been pondering the CR for reliable video and bonus camera...
