I've grouped some other pictures on the theme so lonely but this
time with a more happy feelig in them (in my opinion). My interest
in photographing people is still growing and soon I will try to
make series to capture emotions or I must say to illustrate
emotions as what is seen in a picture is only a split of a second
and can give a complelely other expression that what was happening
in reality. Always interesting to know which you prefer as in many
series I see that there are many differences. Maybe I will post a
part 3 on the theme so lonely but then focussing on animals, they
can feel also very lonely and express it very well. Hope you enjoy
these pictures.
Hi Dirk, I did not yet see your other series lonely but I will go and find them after this. I have to say that I like all these pictures a lot especially for your use of space in many of them, many are exquisite for me partly because I am only just learning that I dont have to fill the frame

...... but you know I actually dont get the "lonely" feeling from these images .. I will pop some comments from what I see next to each of them if I can ...
above ... woolly ... wrapped up ... winter warm light .. cosy perhaps . but those look like pyjama bottoms like my son has so its an unusual image for me .. pyjamas, grapes, wrapped up and I think sunset light ..
foggy or bright .. joy .. shouting ... whistle of the wind ... this woman does not look like she is on her own to me ... to my eye there are others behind her out of the frame, she has just got there first .. perhaps she is shouting "come on" to the people behind her ...
I love this picture because of the great background and that red cap standing out .. and the frizbee also to the right ... however unless you clone out the frisbee Dirk ... then its obvious he is not alone ..

.. he just missed his catch ( by the way I may well be completely mistaken about it being a frizbee ) anyhow thats what I perceive .. he just missed catching it and I think someone else had thrown it .
this one is perhaps lonely .. which one though is lonely? the statue asking why does she not talk to me or the person looking out to sea ? its not clear to me, perhaps they both are
very fun this but as soon as she saw you its not lonely anymore because she is now "there - with you" if you had her before I think it could have been lonely ... but now its for me definately " interaction with a

" or body language
this is a face that has smiled a lot, look at those laughter lines and the piercing clear eyes .. I remember series of pictures of this man and he always looked full of brightness ..
its possible this guy is lonely but I think he is caught up in some celebrity gossip or other .. some tittle tattle of some kind in the magazine and is lost to the world for the moment .. daydream .. own little world
stunning .. lovelly image this one ... "luminoscity"
the gaze of the smaller hunter
this is a lovelly light picture .. I think I should be hearing clip clip .... clip clip as he walks across the hard light floor ... in the empty room ..... oh no who stole all the pictures !!
thinking "outside the box" ...... grin there used to be someone who was always urging people to do that in here do you remember, very amusing image that one ..
Great to see this set of images Dirk, I always enjoy your pictures, hope that my comments do not offend in any way but I do think there is too much joy in many of them for there also to be lonelyness.
