There's a good hike through New Forest National Park in Wiltshire and Hampshire that ends at a Ferrari showroom, just opposite a decent country pub. Being a big child, I had to go have a look, only to see they had a pristine, stunning, Rosso Corsa F40 parked in the shop.


Not a particularly skilful shot, just an incredible looking car.

Anyway, thought some of you might like to see the car.

Red's a tricky colour to capture, so thought it might make a good challenge to throw out there. Show off your photos of red things. The gauntlet has been thrown.

Looks pretty good! You might also like this older one, a Testarossa. Taken 8 years ago, Oly 520 with an old manual Nikkor ED 180/2.8 AiS lens.

The driver had to show up there at that TÜV service station for the mandatory biennial technical inspection. Was fun watching his heated discussion with that testing engineer; they were very close to having a real fight, with the engineer guy probably ending up with a broken nose! :-D

Manual focus, oh well, it shows a bit.













And maybe another interesting red object, a year 2010 shot (Oly 520 and Nikkor 105/2.5 AiS), of an old Wankel engine (rotary piston) Sachs-Dolmar chainsaw from the seventies:

Ah, the lovely original Testarossa, the most iconic of the 512s IMHO , and a funny story to go with it





The showroom had a later model, 512TR. The view partially obscured by a silver 360 Challenge Stradale.

Had no idea Wankel rotary chainsaws were a thing. Interesting. Did you hear it run? Looks sort of orange though
