I just wondered what quality you all shoot with your D200's

Is it just RAW or just JPG or both, if both what quality JPG

Primarily I shoot RAW but if I do shoot Jpeg I shoot Fine.

The largest size print I make is 8 x 10. Medium is fine for this size.

If I know I will crop then I go to JPEG Fine, Large.

Nef only, I have never used jpg on my D200 comming from a D70 where all I used was raw also, Image quality is much better converting a nef to jpg using nikon capture than a jpg right out of the camera, Plus shooting in raw I get a little extra insurance.

Totally depends on what I'm shooting.

If it's for a paper on a tight deadline, it's jpeg, large+fine.
If I have a little more time, it's raw.

I dont understand the Jpeg Fine, Jpeg Meduim or the Raw compr and such...I usually shoot in Jpeg but would like to try the Raw...

If I havent shot in Raw would it be best to have them both

There is compressed or uncompressed raw, A raw file uncompressed is about 15.5 megs each and compressed is about 9-10 megs each, I have tried both modes and I can't see any difference between the two.

I shoot fine jpegs, and I save any editing as TIFF files.

I shoot with a D2H, I shoot in RAW+JPEG

The viewing program I use (Photo Mechanic) will show a nice sharp full size JPEG in a fraction of a second, but the RAW is never full size and smooth. Once I have deleted the bad images, I trash all the JPEGS and use the RAW images. I NEVER do anything with the JPEGs.
