Yeah, some of the posts seem to be an overreaction. It doesn't feel like a "serious" problem, and it does have adequate workarounds.Since people here can re-create the bug and you are all using the
latest firmware (?) has someone reported this to Sony?
It is maybe not a big "bug" but should be fixed in next firmware update.
There is a reason to turn on DRO even you are shoot raw only.I didn't meant to imply that the image itself was impacted. What I was trying to get at was the extra information that the camera would store for later DRO correction would only be useful in a software package that could use that information - Sony supplied. I was implying if you are a RAW only shooter that uses Lightroom there is no reason to ever turn the DRO option on and therefore you should then never encounter this "problem".
Sony write DRO on/off status into raw, and lightroom 3 sees it. if you have DRO as on, lightroom 3 will try to mimic sony's DRO curve by default when decode raw. No need for you to do it manually.
