Hi all, I would like to know what resolution everyone has their monitor set at. I am working on a webpage and realized that I was making it look good for 1152X864 (my setting). But I am betting that most people use 1024 x 768. In that case I should shrink all my graphics a bit. I figure noone who practices photography would be any lower than 1024 though..

1600x1200 @ 120 Hz on 19"

On a Nokia Xpro. I wish Nokia still did monitors, i havent found any .22pitch monitors this clear in 4 years.

And no hum like my wifes new monitor. Now does my TV next to it cause a problem like my wifes new monitor... Newer monitors are REALLY going downhill on quality, so itll be a while till I upgrade.

wow, you aren't messing around. If a lot of people are using settings like yours I might need to enlarge my graphics. :) thanks for the reply

Comon people, all I need is a subject line with your resolution. I am trying to get a handle on what the majority uses.

Here is a sample from my tracker
800x600 870 51.97%
1024x768 484 28.91%
640x480 157 9.37%
1280x1024 73 4.36%
1152x864 50 2.98%

I forgot what the max browser width for a 17" monitor at 800x600 is , but that is what should be the guideline for graphics.. 800x600px images are really pushing it.. IMO

1400x1050 on my Sony laptop
1600x1024 on my home 19" desktop
1024x768 on my work desktop 15" piece of junk

Many web pages show incorrectly that use a graphic depicting a notebook or similar in the margin, the "margin" repeats about2/3rd across the screen, most annoying. Good luck.

I have a photographic memory, but I always seem to have the lens cap on.

There is a site that gives you a ton of statistics of this nature. Can't recall the URL though, sorry. Last I read, 800x600 was far and away the largest share for web use.

My laptop (any many others) has a maximum resolution of 1024x768, so I would make sure that all webpages work on that. I generally design pages for 800x600. Remember that many people keep their Windows Task Bar on the left side, so the visible resolution of IE is more like 900x768.

My home machine's monitor runs at 1600x1024 (it is a 16:10 aspect ratio monitor...SGI 1600SW).

I'm using:

dualhead (which is GREAT even if you only have a small 15" as second display):
1280x1024 on a 19" TTX
1152x864 on a 17" Dell

and 1024x768 on my laptop

I am running at 1280 x 960 with a 19" Trinitron tube. 85Hz is the refresh rate in case you wanted to know.

If you are one of the ones that are running 1280x1024, then you are looking at distorted graphics. :o)

A "normal" sized 4:3 monitor has an aspect ratio of 1.33. 1280x1024 is 1.25. 1280x960 is 1.33
