***Mini-Challenge #420*** MOTION

Howdy Stranger..

Gotta love a white headed woodpecker. It's impossible to point a camera at one and get a bad picture :)

Cheers
Some shot with 7D, others with 7D2. 300 f/2.8 L IS, 1X or 2X TC, 600XRT with beamer. EXIF should be there.

Thanks for the look.

Cheers,
Harry

You got the helio looking like flying crickets. I wonder about having a mode to shoot speed bracketing, to find the speed where the rotors show movement and the helio doesn't. I got lucky on a shot of a plane dragging a banner at the beach, I will have to drag it out.

Awesome shots, Harry!!! You must have been stalking that woodpecker for some time, to have caught him at that perfect moment! And I love the egret, too! The reflected water under his (or her?) wing is beautiful!
Thanks. I got lucky with the woodpecker. He was spotted from the road as he was building his nest. Once I knew where he was I just waited him out.

The Snowy Egret is, as we all know, the best bird ever...

Thanks for the nice compliment!

Cheers

this is a great photo Bill. Is that selective color, or how did you do that? No red in the fire in the back?

My 3 entries, then some extra exhibits...

This was my first attempts using the tracking autofocus. I don't think it came out too badly, and am excited to use it in more situations (but please excuse my obvious sensor dust)!

Yoenis fouling off a tough pitch last summer, on one of our regular Red Sox pilgrimages (this time to NY for a Mets series). In the hot afternoon sun, after keeping hydrated with numerous beverages, not too many of these attempts were as clear, well timed, or decently framed as this one. Now I just have to get rid of that cable!
