Don't delete DPR cookies and don't use browser back button straight away after changing to flat view as your browser will take you back to the page with threaded view and reset the cookie.

Also don't use the forum search, as when you click on a result it will also switch you back to threaded view. There are other links that also inadvertently reset to threaded, too.

Got it, really I don't know who thought it was a nice idea to set the threaded view as default! Such a useless interface who wants to be clicking on expand on every thread to see it? that's the whole point of a forum!
Me, for one. Sometimes I follow the subthreads, sometimes not. Threaded view allows me to stop following subthreads while still following the main thread. Sometimes I only read the replies to the OP and none of the replies to those replies.
And I want it locked in threaded view. If I search, sometimes it winds up in flat view because that's what the person who posted that reply set it to. Then I have to set it back. So don't be surprised when you have yours changed back to threaded view after a search. You'll just have to change it back to flat.
Plus, in threaded view we don't have to have all those annoying copied posts from everyone else all the time. It's easier to follow without those.
I wish that every board for every subject offered threaded view as an option. Most of the technical forums I am on offer such. But I think this is the only photography one which does.
