How do you interpret this picture?

so much cooler in my opinion to just say what it is and let the viewer make up their own mind. (easier to find in your archives too i should imagine) Artists and composers for centuries have given their work simple titles. see Sunflower, or 5th! ha ha.

but if you have a nice shot i think titles like 'hope' or 'truth' etc just cloud the the viewer's mind (and sound corny - i'd buy a print called 'man by fence' - i would think twice about buying a print called Hope.(especially if someone decided to stick the word over the print in some very soon to be out of fashion type face.)

great shot - j

I had and idea, and I flimsely executed it tonight! I'm just curios
about how you interpret this pic. I'm looking for a one word title
with impact, but I just can't find it. But, thinking about it,
perhaps a title would restrict the suggestiveness?

"Bugger, how am I going to get my football back?"

Sorry to be flippant. The title doesn't matter. Super picture.

doesn't it? A lot of those prisoners in Guantanamo Bay are not
proven to be terrorists. They deserve the right to an attorney.
And being U.S. captives, they all deserve human rights. They are
being treated like animals. I don't know what's worse the captors
or the captives.

Truth? You do not 'know' the truth - it is your opinion only. How do you 'prove' their innocence? Let them go and see if they blow up a few thousand innocent people? Some of those already let go have had further involvement with terrorists. America does not generally simply imprison people at some whim. The reason these people are there is because America is trying to protect its people from terrorists - murder. The people in question must have some link (if only in the mind of authorities) else 'everyone' would be in there. The terrorists have decalred war on the West and are intent upon vile murderous acts to achieve it - including nuclear devices.

In the UK we have now started deporting people suspected of involvement in terror. Likely some will be realtively innocent - mistakes will be made. And the likes of you will crow for them and about freedom of speech etc. Does that make us worse than the terrorists? No! We simply know that to preserve freedom we sometimes need to restrict it. Certainly we need to stop the terrorists from doing their worst. So, suspects get imprisoned and then investigated further until the authorities can decide properly on the level of threat.

You need to grow up. War forces a different set of principles to peace time. We can afford to indulge many extreme people in peace but in war the rules change drastically. When this Muslim terrorist BS stops, then the war powers taken in will fade away and people will be bale to shoot pictures where they like and travel on the tube or bus without fear of being blown to bits by some crazy suicide bomber. I'd much rather see some inncoent people lose their freedom along with terrorists than see train loads of innocent people blown to death. You seem to want the opposite.

It's idiots like you that made Hitler ejaculate with joy.
No. It's idiots like you that make Muslim extremists ejaculate with joy. Make sure they were condoms so they do not spray you. You might drown in all that joy.

During WWII many people had their freedoms reduced - eg conscription, pow camps, etc. I am sure many thought it uinfair but it was necessary. Iin peace time such freedoms were restored and indeed increased. Today is no different. You really must stop imagining that all the Western countries want to imprison their populations. They are in these instances reacting to vile actions and threats of more.

"How do you 'prove' their innocence?"

This sentence pretty much sums it up. Guess we all should be in jail. How can you prove anyone is innocent.

You, sir, are a shining example of Godwin's Law: "There is a tradition in many Usenet newsgroups that once a comparison to Hitler or the Nazis is made the thread is over, and whoever mentioned the Nazis has automatically lost whatever argument was in progress."

Don't take this loss too hard. When I was your age (what, 12? 13?) I lost many a forum argument because I too was young and inexperienced and regularly, and inadvertantly, invoked Godwin's Law too. "Hey, where'd everybody go?" came up a lot. Try not to let it get to you too much...maybe you can win the argument on the next president.
