That is interesting. Metz do offer versions for most makes except Leica thus forcing us to buy the very expensive Leica branded version. Red Dots are not cheap!

I just got my Metz 26 AF 2 and it does not work with the CL. No flash at all.

Louis,
It is possible that the contractual arrangements that existed between Metz and Leica may no longer apply as I think the most recent Leica branded flashes are made by Nissin.
I hope to be able to answer that question soon as I have a SF26.. I am still waiting for my pre-ordered CL to arrive. My dealer tells me that he is expecting a delivery from Leica "in January". I live in hope.I see the Leica SF26 is showing discontinued on the B&H site. while expensive, this is the smallest of the Leica flashes. Does anyone know that this will work on the CL?
I can confirm that the Leica SF26 works fine on the CL. It well illuminated a dark room at about 16 ft from the test subject. Best setting I've found is 45 degrees (the setting one notch below 180 (straight up)--even illumination, less lens blockage. The LED/video light is useless, however.I see the Leica SF26 is showing discontinued on the B&H site. while expensive, this is the smallest of the Leica flashes. Ronald, I finally received my Mecablitz 26 AF-2 from B&H and it is not working on CL!..... Is SF26 different from this one?I can confirm that the Leica SF26 works fine on the CL. I far prefer the SF40 to the SF26. The SF26 is much smaller and lighter but the SF40 well complements the CL and is much more versatile (swivel/rotating head, much larger head, zoom flash, 4 batteries (faster recycling than the SF26), integrated "OK" bounce card, wide angle diffuser, etc. I carry the SF26 for emergencies, in case the SF40 breaks or I've forgotten a spare set of batteries.

I am very surprised since I asked BH before and they confirmed this flash is compatible with CL; and, in BH site, the Leica version is posted as accessory for CL. Really too bad, it is a very cute flash that goes so well with CL!

Well, here is the conclusion I am getting to. When a flash says "Olympu-Panasonic-Leica" , Leica means the Panasonic/Leica cameras; therefore, it doesn't work with Leica made in Germany, but with Leica made by Panasonic.

Well, that picture is clear enough. The CL has one contact less than the T.Well, here is the conclusion I am getting to. Ah well. That unit is definitely more svelte than the 44!

A Land Rover, a camera ... I'm happy!
Therefore, Mecablitz 26 AF-2 is only compatible with V and D Lux cameras that originally are Panasonic. It does not work with CL.
I also tried it on T and had the same result: not compatible!...
This is the hot shoes of both T (on the left) and CL (on the right)

Don, I hope I am wrong. I was just repeating what I was told by a B&H guy during a long phone conversation I had with him this morning.Well, that picture is clear enough. You're not correct about the Leica-Panasonic thing though. My Metz 44 works on my Olympus EM1 and EP1, Panasonic L1 and FZ1000 and my Leica T, all fully functional with TTL (though I can't say if the zoom feature works as I only have manual lenses for my T). The difference is somewhere between T and CL.
Edit: actually, I got curious and had a look. My FZ1000, L1 and EM1 have the same pattern as the CL, not the T! I wonder if the T's extra contact powers the viewfinder (which has a corresponding pin)?

I just tried my aged Sunpak 383 auto super and it worked very well. It's much lighter than my leftover Canon flash....
