Faces behind the cameras

....this is going to disillusion all those fine ladies out there who may have imagined me to be good looking!

This photo was shot at a local store on a HP camera then printed on a Epson R300 & then scanned by me at home.

Who's Herc is that? With a name like yours, I'd have had an AN124
behind me, preferably in ADB colours :-).

It's Turkish C-130 (C-130E probably). It came with their demo group Turkish Stars, carying all the ground stuff. Nice big machine.

An-124, WOW, I wish I had a chance to see one. As the world changes Russians are very rare guests here. BTW ADB makes good business.

Sometimes a photograph captures reality.
Sometimes a photograph captures the imagination.
Ultimately, a photograph simply captures a moment in time.
And then, . . . it lives forever.

Hey John, how's it going?!

Hi Sol,

Are you sure that's you and not just a model you hired as a
stand-in to get noticed in this thread? LOL Very dashing, true
suntan or not.
LOL!! Nah, just one of the few days I've woke up on the right side of the bed. The Virgin Islands did help with that. I'm just an old rock & roller who can't seem to find barbers often enough. :-))
The pics of me would have turned out more like yours if I was
holidaying in the Virgin Islands, somewhat younger, with somewhat
more hair ... oh yeah, and different parents. ;o)

After seeing some more posts, I might have to make another post
further down the thread to show that my family is more than just me
and my dog Molly. I'll have to sneak my wife in while she's not
looking as she is a bit shy about photos, as many women are.
Yeah, let's see the family, John. My wife is actually the good-looking one in the family. That's her on the (ever-lasting) temp page at my website, http://solarviewphoto.com/

Turkish Hercs are rare here, though they do overfly sometimes to the USA, though the only ones I've seen have all been camoflaged.

AN124s are very frequent visitors to Shannon, our local airport. Volga Dnepr have a base and ADB regularly visit. We also get ADB's only AN22 and the AN 224.

It is not unusual to have 3 AN124s on the ground at once, sometimes up to 5.

Great bunch of faces so far and I really enjoyed myself going
through them. Each post brought a smile to my face and it's cool
seeing work spaces and other interests in your lives. Hope the
thread continues to grow cause there's still some names I see often
that aren't here.

thanks everyone, you lift my heart.

After looking through my pictures searching for some good ones I
realized that I had quite many showing nothing but me. I guess w/o
anyone else to shoot you have to make do with what you've got, your
self :)
I must say that making my own remote release cable allowed me to
expand what I was able to make of my model :) As in the second
picture.

You people sure are gluttons for punishment :-D

Ok, you asked for it. Last chance to hide the women and children!

That is a really nice shot. The lighting sets the mood and elevates the image into an excellent portrait.

I've been visiting MTF for about two months now. I've really
enjoyed it ....seeing peoples work, learning a thing or two and
hopefully making a few friends. It's a great community and I think
seeing some of the faces behind the cameras and comments would make
it even better. I haven't been one of the prolific contributors
here so I'm not assuming anyone necessarily wants to see my face,
but in order to get things started I feel I must "expose" myself.
Hope to see a lot of you.

thanks, Barry

Hiya John,

Tell me, what's that miniature test-tube in your right hand, eh?

When Man talks about beer, Man should really talk about BEER! :-))

Taken 2 years ago in Italy. First thing to do on holiday upon arrival is to wipe off the dust of the road afer a long-long drive! ;-)

Have a nice weekend, All!

Cheers, Feri

Yes, that is the working environment for most developers. At least those that I know personally.

This is a reflection in my office window taken just before dawn. It was Actually very zoo-like. This window looks out into an atrium where people can stroll and stare at the animals-developers making magic or bugs in a simulated natural habitat.

My office has moved since I made this shot. I'm now on the 3rd floor of the building overlooking a well worn apartmant building.

Is that the "Programmer" exhibit at the San Antonio zoo?!? :)
