In principle, yes. But it is a quite pedestrian forum compared to DPReview.

DPReview is extremely efficient when it comes to get an overview and find posts.

And, of course, DPReview contains sooooooo much info.

It would be so good if dpreview could be saved in the form it is!

You can't make something that has grown in decades within a few days.

I understand that Amazon want's to get rid of it. That is OK. However, if you own something you have some responsibility, some moral charge. In the German Basic Law it is part of the content. And I do believe that there is an ethical load of material goods, of property, that is always there.

This, if they want to have it no longer on their payroll, they could try to find somebody they can give it to in order that he/she keeps the worthiness inside this website instead of throwing it away like packaging material from something that you once bought and used.

We had this thread with messages to Amazon. We are not in a position to demand something. However, we can hope for an openness for solutions that could keep this website alive.

A sad day for sure. DPR has been a wonderful resource for my digital conversion over the last 15+ years. The Forum has its own strengths but is not a replacement for DPR. *)@!%*#. Wonder what Chris and Jordan's plans are?
Me? I'm just back from Japan, and was excited to share Snow monkey pics.

What a shock!

At least I will sign up at PF.

So where else do you hang out? Need that source of credible info! :-)

Doug
Nowhere really. I have an PentaxForums account. But I do not find it hangaround-friendly. The DPReview forum browser is just so much better. And, that there are all other brands at DPReview makes it so much more useful.
Yup.

Thanks for all your critiques Roland!
