Please help me out with this unfortunate issue. Everything went normal so far, but now I get a distorted image when I open up a RAW file in ACR. Looks like this:

Any help will be highly appreciated on how to reset whatever needs to be reset. Thanks in advance.

Can you upload the RAW file to Dropbox or Google Drive ?

Yes I can, but I think the problem is not with this specific raw file itself. This happens since I upgraded to ACR 17.2 the other day. Any RAW file I open from the past looks the same. Simply dunno what happened?

I don't know ACR, but is there an option to save your upon-load settings, then clear all settings to default?

Then load the file.

I have ACR 17.2 myself , and every RAW files just opening as they should.

Lucky you!! :)

Again, this is what I see in ACR:

And this is what I see when exporting to Photoshop:

It's driving me crazy!! :(

Thanks, but actually never had to do such sequence before. This is one of those "it worked yesterday, but it doesn't work today" cases. Kinda mystery! :(

Well , I'm using Windows 11 , probably the same as You.

Maybe You should do a rollback to 17.0

OK Guys, problem solved. Opened "display settings" on my PC (with Win 10) and saw HDR was enabled. After disabling it everything got back to normal (including my tired brain!!). :) Don't ask why, please. Things happen!!! :) Thanks for all your help, enjoy a hot coffee tomorrow morning and take care! :)

Glad you sorted it, but to my eyes it wasn’t “distorted”, just that colours were crazy. Distortion is geometric, not tonal. Maybe just a misunderstanding or mis-translation. 🙂
