It may not make anything "better". It probably just means things happen a little faster.

I'd go as far as to say you can ignore the Digic processor. It's there and it does the heavy lifting, but it's not like it can be swapped out or that it will elevate one camera's sensor over another. A 5D2 uses a Digic 4, a Rebel T6 uses a Digic 4+, but the T6 is not going to be better at anything over the 5D2.

A faster processor enables faster performance and more efficient processing, but the improvements won't always be tangible.
