>>> Challenge 12: Light - Voting Thread <<<

Thanks,
Lonnit
Time to start voting, and as already mentioned this time we'll try
online automated voting in the new "CSLR Challenge Voting Booth" at

http://www.liteserv.com/cslrvotebooth/index.php

Please go on over there and start putting down your votes! (Note:
There seems to be a one hour time difference for some reason so the
voting booth may not be open for another hour). The booth will stay
open for two days, after its closing I'll update the galleries to
reflect the final standings.

This is new to me as well so I hope those of you who have used this
system before can help with any questions.

Please also use this thread to discuss if you like this system of
voting and if it should be used for future challenges.

Thanks!
Anders

and offer your comments. The fastest way for me to learn is when
you tell me what I'm doing right and what I'm doing wrong, what you
like and what you don't. I welcome all opinions. :)

Hmm... that is probably why it won't work for me. I voted for only four in each gallery.
When you get that message, it means you did not vote for 5 images
(changed the message to 5 now because before it was 3) or there was
an error.

Let me know if you can successfully vote.

Thumbnails are showing, my votes are recorded.....and in my excitement, I forgot to leave comments next to the ones I voted for.

Thanks Jack, this is fantastic!

It was the fact that I only voted for 4 photos the first couple of times I tried it. Is there a way to give us a choice of four or five?

Yes, you must pick 5 votes.

Nope, because each voter gets 5 total points and must use all 5. You can always give a small weight to one you don't quite like but still like better than the rest.

Some problems were there because I was careless as I ported over the booth for this forum.

I've updated the data gathering system to make the pages load much faster. I used a slow method before and it never really slowed down because there were never this many entries! I was supposed to make this update a long time ago but was lazy.

This is really .....! I have just tried to vote twice and both times when I press the vote button I get error on page. The error detail says:

Line: 402
char: 1
Error: object expected
Code 0
Url ..... blaa blaa blaa

I can vote happily in the ctf challanges. I wonder what I'm doing wrong here?

Any help out there?

Turn ON the "inline thumbnail" feature of the voting booth.

Shame it's too LATE for me to do this now.... I only found out about the feature....... after I was done voting :-(

This feature allows viewing a thumbnail image instead of having to fiture out which I.D. number is what image? Had I found it sooner, it would have cut my voting time in half at LEAST!

Anway, just want to thank everyone / anyone who showed an appreciation for any of my images. I also want to thank the host for a VERY well run challenge and, congrats to ALL participants.........

you are a VERY creative bunch :-)

Markjay

Yes, thank you...... I just noticed this a few mintues ago and made the same warning in my thread post reply below.

Shame I did NOT find this feature prior to voting :-(

The voting booth is AWESOME, compared to what we were doing before, IMO.

Thanks for the heads up on the thumbnail feature anyway,
Markjay

It looks like a javascript error and I am using IE 6.0 sp 1

Ok, I voted again. This time I didn't get the error on page, instead the vote button caused the page to load: http://www.liteserv.com/cslrvotebooth/index.php

However, this page has still not loaded. It seems to be hung about 3/4 of the way according to the progress bar.

What do you want me to do?

I looked in the database and your vote is there for the eligible category. I don't know why your browser won't load. About 5 people have voted since I started watching again.
