Batch convert cr2 to jpeg

How do I convert a batch of cr2 files to jpegs. I mainly use camera raw, bridge and PSCS6 and I also have LR3.6. Can it be done with any of those software programs? If it can't be done with those or if there is a better program to do it with please tell me since I have 610 cr2 files that I want to do it with to use in a slide show. Thanks for your help.

In Lightroom, select all the files, switch to the develop module, apply any settings you want (contrast, sharpening, etc.), select export, choose the options you want (size, color space, extra sharpening, renaming, location, etc.). Bingo. Easy.

Lightroom has a problem in that it trys to take over all the images on my computer. Very nasty that way.

I use dpp even though I have LR & PS I just started 2 use dpp and for some reason just stuck with it ... works for me ...

In Light Room, you can simply select the files, chose Export, select the output directory, select the output format (size and file type), and start the export. That's it. If you want to do more, you can apply some changes to individual files, groups of files, or the whole batch, with the develop module and then do the export. I routinely take about 300 RAW files and end up with 100 selected, edited (color corrected, cropped, and some lighting adjustments) JPGs on my Smugmug site in about two hours.

Lightroom only tries to catalog all images if you tell it to. I have mine set to just show images from specific folders - and have had it that way since LR1. One big detail is to make sure that you don't set it to import photos already on your hard drive, but just to catalog them - if you chose the former it will make a second copy, which isn't necessary and gets very messy.

Sounds like you are talking about iTunes, not Lightroom.

The biggest problem with LR is learning how to set up an image storage system and a cataloging system. Far from Lightroom taking over it takes work to get it doing what you want, but the work is well worth it.

Lightroom is my standard tool for creating JPGs for the simple reason that it automatically converts the RAW file to sRGB space and embeds that color space information in the file, and it is easy to batch process any or all the files in a collection.

I remember that when I first installed LR1 and started it up, the default settings were to make a fresh copy of all images and store them in a location it preferred. It took me a while to figure out what was going on and to find how to catalog in place.

It will, but it doesn't offer any conversion options that take advantage of the RAW format (and it may, I'm not sure, only use the embedded JPG to create the output).

Canon DPP batch converts RAW files to JPG and will automatically apply picture styles, or other options from the camera.
