Anyone else tired of adaptors?

I love all the electronic devices but I get frustrated with having to haul around all the battery charging adaptors that go with them. What the world (at least my part of it) needs is a univesal battery charger.

I believe the Canon charger is dual voltage. You just have to use the proper adaptor for the country. You can't hope to change all of those.

I took his wish to be for one adapter that could be set different ways in order to use the same adapter to charge different devices. (such as: camera, cell phone, etc.). Wouldn't that be nice?

I didn't think of that. Yes, it would be very convenient but not likely to happen in our lifetime. LOL.

One big government would solve all the problems like adapters, SAE vs metric wrenches (my snowmachine needs both!) and trying to remember your height in both inches and meters...

I have a friend who is a writer. His solution is pretty good. Instead of lugging around a laptop and all the goofy adapters he goes to garage sales and buys portable typewriters. Manual typewriters don't need electricity, so they work everyplace. Wherever he visits he leaves a portable, so when he comes back there it is. No adapters, no problems with plugs or compatibility. You can do the same with cameras. Get a Nikon F and three lenses and you can stay out there in the woods til the tri-x runs out, like we used to do in the old days.

Well, with this gadget, you can charge your cellphone and laptop simultaneously, in the car, airplane, or at home.

It's a good start.

Elect me as world leader. I will get rid of electricity, negating the need for multiple adapters!

Will it charge three 1D batteries, a BP511 10D battery and the little NP2 for my S30 at the same time ;-) ...

Study what? People asked for solutions to the adapter problems, and I will provide it.

They should be careful what they ask for without giving enough other things to consider. ;)
Are you going to study that first?

I was thinking of a GW classic on Thursday in response to the blackout.

Why study that?

It was clearly a demonstration of the WOMD that Al-Qaeda had in Iraq.

Given enough time, the CIA will be able to prove this, of course. ;)

I end up carrying some cords which are easier. I keep the cord/charger for my laptop in the case, I use the cell phone charger in my car (when I'm driving), I charge my PDA up before I leave and am miserly with its use, then I only carry the double charger for the BP511 and the fast 4 battery charger for the rechargeable NIMH. I bought a number of sets and put them in a wallet that I hook to my tripod--just easier than keep charging during shoots and I charge at night when I'm on location. I have 2 sets of BP511 (4 batteries) and that keeps me going all day on a long shoot. I really can do without anything but the 2 for the camera/flash, but those who have 1Ds AND 10Ds are stuck I guess. I've considered all the options for the flashes, but I just don't do enough to invest in another battery system, so several sets of NIMH work fine for me--and I keep at least one spare for the STE2 (which is not rechargeable).

B/W lover, but color is seducing me

Which is a huge issue with me. I'd be all for getting rid of all these damn remotes before finding a way to get rid of the various chargers.

Eight remotes just for the 2 TV's alone. Rediculous.
