Went for another round….and it was a weird morning…..

An eerie fog rolled into the fields…

Out of the darkness came a truck with a vicious tulip roaster on it….

Then this strange beast rose from the tulips….like a crazy truck dragster parachute..

Ok…enough goofing around…..

I have a few more shots of the rows…in full colors….

Just a cross section of the colors….

And a barn hiding in the riot of color……

I will be posting more as I go through them....

--ya got me on the tulip roaster big time. i looked at that and could not figure out why anyone would want to get rid of fog on a tulip crop.
then i went to the next shot....duh!
beautiful colors and the fog makes them more outstanding.

Having a better morning so I think I won't loose the whole morning just trying to get focused....

Question for you.....

You shoot a lot of scenic shots. Which lens do you use for wide angle shots. A zoom, or a prime? If zoom which? I'm looking to make a final decision on a wide angle lens & I'm getting good feedback, but still not sure. I'd probably want to go with a zoom......

Any input would be greatly appreciated from you, the Master.

Tokina 12-24 (you'll get a lot of heated debate on this one here)

Nikon 17-55 f/2.8

Nikon 80-400VR.

I almost never have problems with the 55-80MM hole I have in my current set up....this keeps my kit light and portable for hikes.

I usually carry my heavy tripod as my walking stick....with legs extended....

I have other assorted goodies for longer hikes....an Epson p2000 card dump....a polarizer and a remote shutter release cord.....Expodisc...etc

And my assorted trail treats and water...

Give me that and a sturdy pair of hiking boots...and I am good to go.

Arghh, I wish I could be up there right now. Seems like the only photo opps around here lately involve yellow crime tape, helicopters and swat teams.

Oh well, I'll be up there in four weeks. Keep em coming Roman and I'll just have to sit here and drool. Have a good one.

LOL so I'm not the only one stirring up debates in here. Good. ;-) Don't think I need anything that wide just yet.
Nikon 17-55 f/2.8
I've heard good & bad things about this lens... You're obviously happy with it. Yes?
Nikon 80-400VR.
OK, I fill that whole with the 70-200VR & my TC17E-II. Then there's the 300mm f/4 that we still have.

Well, I seem to not pack light. Went to San Diego Zoo & Wild Animal Park with 70-200VR, 300mm f/4, TC17E-II & the 24-120VR. Two days after each other. ;-)

My feeling is, it's either a scenic shot - so wide - or it's far away & I need a telephoto lens. I rarely use a 50mm. So I see what you mean.
I usually carry my heavy tripod as my walking stick....with legs
extended....
LOL, I made my daughter carry part of the time my old tripod. Second day her boyfriend carried it. The new one she's decided he'll always carry. ;-)

Which polarizer do you use? I have both the Nikon Type I, which I really like & the Singh Ray Warming Polarizer. I have a smaller Type II which I don't like. I like the thicker ones better, but they're a problem with wide angles.....

Expodisc I've seen those. I need to figure out how they work before I decide if I want to spend the money. I want the Sing Ray variable ND filter & that costs a lot of money. Makes the polarizer seem like nothing. :-(
And my assorted trail treats and water...
Always a good idea.
Give me that and a sturdy pair of hiking boots...and I am good to go.

Hi, Roman,,,

The first and last are okay, but why the thin DOF..?

I'd reconsider the spacing between lines in your border, as it's a bit crammed, imo....

Thanks 4 sharing..!
